SAINSBURY'S LOCAL

Since 2009 Rame Architects have been involved with the Sainsbury’s Local, Convenience Retail programme and in this time have successfully delivered over 100 stores in England and Wales.  This workstream has also included larger format Convenience projects between 7,000 to 10,000 sq ft.

In 2014 Sainsbury’s transitioned all projects to BIM Level 2. Rame Architects are fully conversant in BIM and the use of Revit.

We have worked on a wide variety of projects ranging from new build, extension and acquisition sites, to refurbishments.  Notable projects include:

2009 - Bath Southgate Eco Store, an developer's shell site, which Sainsbury's have described as the first A-Rated Convenience Store in the UK.

2013 - Haslucks Green Road, Solihull, a knock down rebuild 'Low Carbon Store'.  The design was a timber frame modular construction and utilised roof mounted PV amongst other low carbon technologies and which is claimed to be the UK’s 'greenest convenience store'.

2014 - Stratford Superfresh, large format convenience store in the Olympic Park area of Stratford.

2016 - Battersea Riverlight, a store within the impressive Riverlight development in Battersea and our 100th Sainsbury's Local store.
